2 x Brand new FAJS 40, 45 or 48DCOE side draught carb – with chrome ram tubes and fitting kit!
45DCOE carb uses 57mm tall ram tubes, the 40DCOE ram tubes are slightly smaller, the 48DCO ram tubes are slightly bigger.
Kit is designed to suit the following:
Holden Gemini – models TX(1975) to TG(1985)
with G161, G180 and G200 engines
NOTE #1: This kit will not clear the brake fluid reservoirs on all models after the TX (as the TX had a factory remote fluid reservoir). TC-TG Gemini’s will need either a TX remote fluid reservoir, or a remote reservoir relocation kit. We have seen photos of the air horns clearing a TD fluid reservoir, however it might possibly only with the taller G180/G200 engines.
40DCOE carb – ideal for stock smaller capacity engine, or a mildly worked 1600/1800.
45DCOE carb – ideal for worked smaller capacity or stock to mild bigger engines (G200 2 litre).
48DCO carb – ideal for worked bigger capacity engines, or if your smaller engine simply needs more airflow, and you want to make things a bit spicy!
Note #2 – all of the above carbs have replaceable main venturi (chokes) which heavily effect airflow and the rpm where peak power will be produced. Another way to think about it is fitting a bigger or smaller choke is similar to fitting a bigger or smaller carb. For example, if you had plans in the future to work your engine, you could fit a bigger carb now, but put smaller chokes in the carb to get it to perform more like a smaller carb, and get better low rpm power and throttle response, and then larger chokes later on when you need ore airflow for more power in the top end.
Although the intake manifold is designed for the G series engine in the Gemini engine bay, it can possibly be used in other engine bays, such as Rodeo or Jackaroo, Chev Luv, etc. However we can not confirm clearance with brakes, shock tower, etc. Shorter ram tubes or air cleaners might be required.
NOTE #3: Although we usually try and keep all parts for this kit in stock, we also sell these kits on our website, and sometimes we run out of stock, and it take 3-4 days to get new stock from our supplier. So if you’re in urgent need of a kit, message us first to confirm if we have it in stock, otherwise, there might be a short delay in getting the kit sent out to you.
The DCOE carb is a compact design synchronous carb sold to suit many performance applications. It features ball bearing throttle shafts for smooth operation, and fully adjustable idle and main circuits, so you can have economical cruising, whilst still being able to get ideal mixtures for maximum power under full throttle. The DCOE carbs are hard to beat for bang for your buck.
We have a large assortment of jets, and can custom tune to your application, providing we have the target specs. We can re-jet the carbs as part of the purchase price. Choke size changes are an extra cost.
As with any carb swap, we can only take an educated guess at the jet sizes your engine will need, so even though the carbs should run quite well out of the box with the base jetting we supply, once fitted to your engine, fine tuning will be needed to optimize power and economy.
We will contact you after purchase to confirm your engine specs so the initial base jetting can be calculated and installed. This will get your engine up and running and should be close to what you need, minimizing fine tuning time and cost.
