ARP head studs material & ratings – These studs are manufactured from 8740 chrome moly alloy steel material and are rated at 200,000psi (1,379MPa) tensile strength.  When you compare this to the tensile strength of a typical high tensile grade 5 steel bolt (500MPa), or an even stronger grade 8 steel bolt (800Mpa), you can see these are made from a very strong material.

This allows you to torque your head down harder than you ever could using stock head bolts.  Standard Isuzu G series engine recommended maximum head bolt torque is 100Nm and is based on the size and strength of the standard steel head bolts.  These ARP studs can be torqued to 122Nm !!

This allows for much higher clamping loads on your head to your block, which sandwiches your head gasket harder, reducing the chance of blowing a head gasket, and stopping your head from lifting at high boost pressures.
