DESCRIPTION:

These air cleaners include a high flow dry cotton gauze filter element.  Kit comes with air cleaner top and bottom plates, high flow cotton gauze filter element, bolts, retaining clips, and carb to air cleaner base gasket

The cotton gauze style filter element is washable, similar to much more expensive brands like K&N, etc.  Designed to maximize performance and airflow, whilst still delivering good protection from dust and debris.

Cotton gauze is the material of choice for aftermarket performance orientated air filters, which you can check out for yourself by doing a simple internet search.  Cotton gauze flows more than paper elements and is washable/oilable.

This air cleaner is perfect for that new carby conversion,or is a great way to restore the performance and economy of your old Carb.

A blocked or clogged up air filter will increase fuel consumption and reduce airflow and engine power, as clogged filters increase the inlet manifold vacuum at any throttle opening.  This higher vacuum causes extra fuel to be delivered by the carby, similar to if the choke is constantly on.  This makes the air/fuel mixture richer than what it needs to be and costs both power and money.
